Georgiana Ross, known as "Big Momma", age 73, departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her home in Lake Charles. She was born on September 1,1951, to the late Angeline West Bartie and Robert Bartie Sr. in Grand Chenier, Louisiana.

She worked at the Local 207 as a chemical plant laborer, and also as a Certified Nursing Assistant at various nursing homes in Lake Charles. She accepted Christ at an early age and been a member of Greater Freeman Memorial Church of God in Christ most of her life.

She leaves to cherish her husband of twenty-plus years, Joseph Sampson Ross Jr. of Lake Charles; her children, one daughter, Joyce (Henry) Spillman, five sons, Allen Bartie Sr., Ervin Bartie, Troy Dicks, James Dicks, and Keenun Chieves, all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three Godchildren, Latoya Bartie, Erica Bias, and Ethan Hill; three sisters Callern Jack, Lillian Redmond, and Mary Hagger, all of Lake Charles; two brothers, Robert Bartie of Lake Charles, and John (Vera) Bartie of Warrington, Georgia. She will also be missed by her loving grandchildren, Rochelle (Bell) Dicks, Shawana, Deona, Moneka Dicks, Keyoner (Stacy) Jones, Alania Bartie, Angelica Jack, Brodrick Dicks, Henry (Yalazja) Dicks, Allen Bartie Jr., and Troylen Stewart all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; several great-grandchildren, three aunts, two uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bartie Sr, and Angeline West Bartie, one sister Edith "Duck" Richardson, two brothers Ebider "Elbo" Bartie and Herbert Lee Bartie, and one grandson Brandon Dicks.
