Obituary

Obituary Ms. Georgie Mae Eaglin, 83, departed this life on July 29, 2015. She was a resident of Lake Charles, LA for more than 60 years. Georgie spent her life's career working at the Calcasieu Parish Health Department, and after more than 20 years of dedicated service she retired to do her favorite thing; sewing and shopping. Georgie was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and belonged to several organizations including the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, St. Rita Court #31, Queen Esther's Court Heroines of Jericho 17 (past ancient matron), and Queen of the South #17, Order of the Eastern Star, M.M.Bell Order of Amaranth #24. She had a very unique personality and fashion sense and will always be remembered for her blue hair. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Williams of Mary Esther, FL and Toni Miles of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Rose Eaglin of Lake Charles, LA, Dorothy Eaglin of Crowley, LA, and Gilda Bell of Houston, TX; one brother, James Eaglin, Sr. of Aurora, CO; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Georgie was preceded in death by her parents James and Joanna Eaglin, one brother, Jesse Lee Eaglin, and one daughter Mary Terrell. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at King's Funeral Home and Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
