Gerard Fitzgerald Richard, 57, of Sulphur departed his earthy life on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. He was born on July 21, 1968 to the union of Joseph Richard and Cecilia Jack Richard. His hobbies included watching Sanford & Son, wrestling and western shows. He especially enjoyed laughing and dancing with his sister, Collette.

Gerard was raised in Mossville, Louisiana and he worked at the Sulphur Work Activity Center, formerly known as CARC. He was a life-long member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. He touched many lives and will be missed dearly by all those of who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Richard; brother, Daniel Richard; sister, Deidre Richard, nephew; Germany Richard, paternal grandparents; Lawrence and Evelina Darjean Richard and maternal grandparents; Robert and Evelyn Gallien Jack.

Left to cherish Gerard's memory includes his mother, Cecilia Richard; brother, Joseph "Chip" Gregory Richard of Moss Bluff; sisters, Debra Richard of Lake Charles, Mary (Michael) Fradieu, Angela (Melvin) Ward, Melissa (Robert) McCraney of Iowa and Collette (Patrick) Celestine of Lake Charles. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at King's Funeral Home from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. Funeral service will follow at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, beginning at 11:30AM. Burial to follow at Westlake Memorial Park. Services entrusted to King's Funeral Home.
