Gladys Marie Gabriel Sonnier was born in Duson, LA on April 24, 1934, to Oliver and Olivia Cormier Gabriel.  She was the youngest of eleven siblings.  She moved from Mowata, LA, to Lake Charles in 1966.  She was a very spirited lady that prayed the rosary daily and lived her life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers, Wilson, Ernest, Bertrand, Paul, Curtis, Mack, Clifton, Edward and Horace; one sister, Thelma Gabriel; her husband, Joseph Sonnier; one son, Joseph L. Sonnier, Jr., and one grandson, Lamont Blue.

She leaves to cherish precious memories two daughters, Judy S. Lutcher of Lake Charles, LA and Linda Sonnier of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Tanjanique Lutcher Bradford (Victor) of Van Alstyne, TX, Regina Lutcher Washington (Rodney) of Baton Rouge, LA, Christine Lutcher of Little Elm, TX, Natalie Lutcher of Lake Charles, LA, Terrell Jean (Orobah) of Pasadena, CA and Levert Sonnier of Austin, TX; three great grandchildren, Brandon Johnson of Van Alstyne, TX, Gabriel Washington and Tyler Washington of Baton Rouge, LA

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
