Glenda Faye Hawkins , 63, was born December 9, 1952, to Alvoid Yokum and Juanita Brown Yokum in Lafayette, LA. She went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at her residence in Orange, TX.

Glenda Faye, as she was known, graduated from W.O. Boston High School in 1970, where she met her high school sweetheart and they were married. She later attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where she earned a BS degree in Accounting. She was an accountant for Dupont Chemical in Beaumont, TX, for many years until her retirement.  She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She will be forever remembered for her love of cooking, and famous, delicious cookies and pecan candy.  Glenda is also known for her love for Tina Turner and was often called this by her sisters. We are going to miss you Tina!

Glenda leaves to cherish her husband of 46 years, Ralph Hawkins; her mother, Juanita Yokum; two children, Theodosia Hawkins of Castle Rock, CO, and Ahmad Hawkins, of Hagerstown, MD; four grandchildren, Raven Ranger, Damien Ranger, Milanya Hawkins and Sebastian Hawkins; her siblings, Brenda Benjamin of Lake Charles, James Yokum (Eulease) of Florida, Heidi Casteel (Orrin) of Denver, CO, Jerry Yokum (Dianne) of Strasburg, CO, Dru Yokum of Bowie, MD, Cedrick Yokum of Lake Charles, Sharon Traylor (Derrick) of Aurora, CO, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvoid Yokum, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016, at 12:00 noon and funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home, Rev. Conrad Brown, officiating.
