Gwendolyn Jean Duncan, 55, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 5:40 am in a DeRidder Hospital.

She was born in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, and was a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was a member of Union Zion Baptist Church, a choir member, and a member of the Prayer Team.

Survivors are three sons, Youhance A. (Tomika) Duncan of DeRidder, Louisiana, Cyrus Dominick Duncan, and Wiltz Duncan (Tay) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her mother, Ella D. Barker of Lake Arthur, Louisiana; sisters, Cynthia Lavergne of Houston, Texas, Charlotte Simon of Lake Arthur, Louisiana, and Dr. Cassandra Barker Carr of Denver, Colorado; three brothers, Gordan Daniels of Charleston, South Carolina, Creighton Jones of Cypress, Texas, and Godfrey Jones of Lake Arthur, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Union Zion Baptist Church, with visition preceeding at noon until time of service. Rev. Joseph Bernard will officiate. Funeral and cremation services entrusted to King's Funeral Home.
