Ms. Helen Augusta, 96, known to many as "Blue", departed this life on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on May 13, 1929 to Laura Thomas Augusta and Curtis Augusta, Sr. in New Iberia, Louisiana, but spent her formative years in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She recently moved to Augusta, Georgia to reside with her daughter, but she always considered Lake Charles her home.

Ms. Helen worked for many years at Sweetlake Land and Oil Company with the Chalkley and Leach families. Her hobbies included cooking, dancing and listening to Zydeco music, and gardening, and most of all, she loved socializing with family and friends.

Ms. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Micheal Augustus and Abraham Augustus. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, three children, Linda R. Stewart, Nancy R. Johnson, and Francis Augusta; twenty grandchildren with spouses, twenty-six great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of her beautiful life will be held on Saturday, April 18 with visitation services beginning at 9:00am and funeral services following at 11:00am at King's Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will follow at Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
