Henry David Jones, Sr., "Big Henry", 64, was born on June 30, 1954, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the late Mary Lewis and William Jones, Sr. He departed this life on Friday, December 7, 2018.

Big Henry was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was a graduate of W.O. Boston High School where he was an active member of the basketball, football and track teams. Upon graduating high school, Big Henry pursued a career in Pogy fishing with Zapata Haynie and Omega Protein that lasted for 36 years; he also provided security for local nightclubs.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, William Jones, Sr., and Mary Lewis; his wife, Martha Leger Jones; one son, Henry Jones, II, and four sisters, Brenda Jones, Sandra Gibbs, Gladys Simien and Dianna Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, LaToshia Jones; three grandchildren, Alex Jones, Alexis Jones, and Jasmine Hill; one great granddaughter, Makyra Richard; four brothers, William (Carolyn) Jones, Jr., Freddie, Wilbert and Harold Lewis; two sisters, Linda Samuel and Patricia Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home, Rev. Lionel Jones, officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
