Herbert Lee John, 67, departed this life on Friday, January 18, 2019, at his residence in Lake Charles, LA. He was born July 26, 1951, to Adam John and Ada Frank John in Lake Charles, LA. He loved fishing, crabbing and playing dominoes. He was a big Saints fan.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Shelvin (Donna) John, Sheldon (Alana) John, Joneeka John and Santana John; a special friend, Barbara Ellis; his siblings, Edna (Russell) Johnson, Ulice John, Mayola (George) Thomas, Gracie (Anthony) Lilly, Christina (Arthur) Withers, Evelyn (Jimmy) Guillory, Cleveland (Darlene) Jones and Joyce (Charles) Withers; seven grandchildren, Ta'tiara Criner, Ja'Donta Blakely, Jaylyn Ceasar, Dillan John, King John, McKenzie Duhon and Marley Citizen; one great grandchild, Kain Toliver; two Godchildren, Tomeka Jones and Kayla Chavis two sisters in-law, Brenda Jones and Tracie John and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Ada John; one sister, Ruth Garrick; three brothers, Leroy John, Adam Lee Jones and Michael John.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019, from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m, at King's Funeral Home, with a rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Henry Catholic Church, Rev. Matthew Cormier, officiating. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
