Herbert "Ken" Parker, Jr., 65, passed away at his home in Iowa, Louisiana on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. He was born April 11, 1960, to Rev. Herbert Dean Parker, Sr. and Blanche Juanita Miller Parker, in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Ken worked as a brick layer for Mr. Elrick Broussard. When not at work, his hobbies included playing cards with family and having a great time among friends. In his younger days, he was an awesome athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball, football, and track. As a young adult, he joined the United States Navy, of which he was honorably discharged.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three children, Kenisha (Ron) Harvey of Covington, Louisiana, Kendrick Parker and La'Rajanea Keys, both of Bogalusa, Louisiana; his siblings, Pam Parker and Ingrid Juana Parker, both of Iowa, Louisiana, Chester (Ophelia) Abram of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and Cynthia Robinson of Las Vegas, Nevada. He will also be missed by his eight grandchildren.

Meeting him in Heaven will be his parents, Rev. Herbert Parker, Sr., and Blanche Juanita Miller Parker, his grandparents, the Rev. Charlie and Fannie Parker, and the Rev. Hershey and Emma Miller.

Family will welcome visitors on Saturday, October 18, at 9:00am at the King's Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11am.

Cremation services are entrusted to King's Funeral Home. A burial of Ken's ashes will be held at a graveside service on a later date in Bogalusa, Louisiana, next to his father.
