Herman Verdine, Sr., 91, departed this life on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles, LA. He was born February 11, 1927, to Roosevelt Verdine and Evelyn Burrell Verdine in Orange, TX. He was married to Ethel Grogan in 1947.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Herman Verdine, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Sharise Verdine of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren, Aaron and Ashley Verdine and mother of grandchildren, Francine Verdine, all of Gaithersburg, MD; step granddaughter, Jessica Bailey; his sister's daughters, Ruby Babineau, Linda Randolph, Patricia Richard and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Evelyn Verdine; one sister, Katherine Babineaux; one brother, Roosevelt Verdine, Jr., and one brother–in-law, Julius Babineaux.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., and Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Edgerly Cemetery in Edgerly, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
