Hiram, known to all of us as Peter, was born on Feb. 1, 1984, in Lake Charles, La., to Horace and Bernadine Fontenot. He departed this life on Feb. 22, 2014, at the age of 30. Peter attended Lake Charles Boston and LaGrange High School where he played football and ran track. He later attended and graduated from Tara High School in Baton Rouge, La. Peter also attended McNeese State University. He was employed at the Port of Lake Charles and most recently CB&I. He is survived by his wife, Inkka Fontenot; three children, Khy Winbush, Hiram Fontenot Jr. and Haiden Fontenot; his parents, Horace and Bernadine Fontenot all of Lake Charles, La.; three brothers, Horace (Sondia) Fontenot Jr. of Mandeville, La., Hershel Fontenot and Heulan (Christina) Fontenot of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Zadelqunette (Wayne) Williams of Houston, Texas, and Krystal (Alfred) Grice of Lake Charles, La.; three nieces, Serena Fontenot, Senora Fontenot and Daisha Archie; five nephews, Donovan Williams, Dana Fontenot, Drake Fontenot, Horace Fontenot III and William Fontenot; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and church family. Peter was preceded in death by his brother, Hosea Fontenot. He was a lifetime member of Refuge Temple Ministries and served faithfully on the security team. He was faithful and dedicated to protecting his pastor. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at Refuge Temple Ministries located at 300 Sprig St. Lake Charles, LA 70615 (337-491-9367), with the funeral service immediately following. Bishop Wendell Archie will officiate. Burial will be at Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
