Ida Mae McCray Jackson was born on April 3, 1937 to the late Colbert McCray and the late Victoria Freeman- McCray in LeCompte, Louisiana. She was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Vincent "Brigon" Jackson. To this union 4 children were born, Mary Frances "Peggy" Jackson, Theodore "Teddy" Jackson, Joe-Nathan Jackson, and Christopher Jackson. Ida Mae resided in Welsh, Louisiana for many years. While living in Welsh she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Arthur White. Later, Ida moved to Lake Charles and attended Cathedral of Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Hernest Arvie. She was a former employee of Prien Lake Bargain Store, Downtowner Motor Inn, Players Casino and Harrahs Casino. Her hobbies were reading, sewing and sleeping. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, two sons: Joe-Nathan and Christopher Jackson; her Father and Mother; her three brothers Walter, Oscar and Wayne McCray. She leaves to cherish her loving memories two children: Mary Frances Jackson and Theodore Jackson; two sisters: Doretha Berard and Betty Jean(West)Young; one daughter-in-law Susan Guillory;one sister-in-law: Alicia McCray; Eight Grandchildren: Wadra(Yemi)Sarumi; Tamara(Derrick) Cotlong; Felicia Napolean; Shalonda Jackson; Sharonda Jackson;Shamika (Ronald) Lewis; Quintessa Guillory; Chrystal Guillory; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; a Niece/Daughter Delfaye Ann Jackson and a host of Nieces, Nephews, family members and friends.
