Irene Marie Charles Dartez, 92, departed this life on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at her residence in Lake Charles, LA. She was born December 5, 1926, to Thomas Charles and Alice Charles in Rayne, LA.  She was raised in Lake Charles, LA by her uncle and aunt, Allen and Mary Guidry. She worked at Central Supply Tech until her retirement.

She leaves to mourn her daughter, Mona K. Dartez-Orphy of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Chester Charles of Rayne, LA; two sisters, Dorothy Charles Larry and Mary Charles Handy both of Rayne LA; four grandchildren, Andrew Jacob Orphy, Autumn Orphy, Alivia Joseph and Aaliyah Joseph and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Alice Charles; her husband, Lumas Dartez; three brothers, Alcide Charles, Rodney Charles and Clifton Charles and her uncle and aunt, Allen and Mary Guidry.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., and a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Father Joby Mathew, officiating. Burial will follow in Shrine of Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery in Rayne, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
