Obituary

Jacoby Damone Rougeau , 29, was called home by His Heavenly Father on Friday, June 3, 2022, in Lake Charles, LA.  He was born on February 3, 1993, to Rachel Michelle Rougeau and Vic Damone Patterson in Lake Charles Louisiana.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Jacoby was baptized at an early age at Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church, pastored by, Reverend Herman Weston in Iowa, Louisiana.  He continued his spiritual growth while attending United Christian Fellowship Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana with his dearest friend Chaz Robinson, and his father Youth Minister, Pastor Charles Robinson being very inspirational in his life.

He attended Iowa High School in Iowa Louisiana, where he was a triple threat, skilled in basketball, football, and baseball. He loved working with his hands working in the construction field most of his adult life.

He was blessed to be a part of a large and loving family who loved and supported him unconditionally.  He loved and was dearly loved (spoiled) by his grandparents. He spent his final days on earth at his favorite place, Mommy's and Poppy's house, enjoying home cook meals and the NBA Finals.  He also enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and his children. To watch him care and play with his children was pure joy!

Jacoby is now at peace and his soul is at rest. His memory lives on through all those who experienced his love, friendship, and that infectious smile!!!

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Rachel Rougeau Carter and her husband, Christopher Carter; father, Vic Damone Patterson; one son, Jansen Rougeau; one daughter, Hallie Jade Rougeau; grandparents, Melvin Rougeau and Dolly Anderson; six sisters, Chante Rougeau, Jaricka Carter, Kristin Carter, Mya Carter, Mariah Patterson and Hannah Patterson; four brothers, Kenneth Lockett, DeLance Patterson, Jacob Patterson and  Vic Damone Patterson Jr.; Godparents, Eric and Mona Lisa Doshier all of Lake Charles Louisiana; his close and dearest friend, Chaz Robinson of Houston Texas as well as nieces, nephews, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Miller Rougeau; paternal grandfather, Richard Patterson; uncles, Kevin Rickey Rougeau and Calvin Lee Rougeau; aunts, Priscilla Rougeau and Bernadine Rougeau.
