James Melson Hardy Sr. "Sonny Boy" was called home on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the age 78. He was born to the late Eugene Hardy Sr. and Emelda Hardy on May 9, 1935 in Abbeville, LA. He was employed by Conoco Refinery's for 35 years. He retired in 1997. He was native of Abbeville, LA., and a resident of Westlake, LA., for years. On Jan. 28, 1956 he married Sis. Olister Rene Hardy, to this union five children were born. James was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Eugene Hardy Jr., Alvin Hardy, and Larry Hardy. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife; Olister Rene Hardy, two sons; James Nelson Hardy Jr. (Sherry) of Lake Charles, LA., and Wayne Hardy of Westlake, LA., three daughters; Faye Hardy of Westlake, LA., Diana Lazenby (Roy) of Orange, TX., and Jessica Davis (Ernie) of Rosamond, CA., two sisters; Marie Bruce of Glendale, AR., and Geraldine Scott of Westlake, LA., one aunt; Franics Hardy of Abbeville, LA., two sister-in-law; Delores Poullard of Boutte, LA., and Shirley Williams of Lake Charles, LA., six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
