James Sidney Thibodeaux AKA Pop was born May 28, 1933 to the late Arthur and Locadia Thibodeaux in Lawtell, Louisiana.

A native of Lawtell, he resided in Lake Charles for most of his life where he was a devoted member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and served as head usher for twenty years. He was a member of St. Henry's Knights of Columbus #5022 where he served as deputy grand knight and honor guard, including Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus MSGR. H. Cramers Assembly. A former Knight of Peter Claver serving as Deputy Grand Knight and Warden. He made Cursillo number 82 and serves as president of the Ramblers Social Club. James was in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and served with honors. He was a member of the Laborer's Local 207 for thirty-five years retiring from the plants.

James departed this life to meet his Savior on March 20, 2006 at 4:15pm. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of forty-four years, Nancy Simon Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sons, James Randy Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Gary Mitchell Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two precious daughters-in-law, Tammy Thibodeaux of Lake Charles and Jennifer Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Cameron Blake Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, and Taylor Paige Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge; one brother, Arthur (Jenora) Thibodeaux, Jr. of Lake Charles; three sisters, Francis (Alvin) Smith and Vertie Mae LaFleur both of Lake Charles, and Loney Richard of Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by parent; three brothers, John, Nolton, and Paul Thibodeaux; four sisters, Ivy Dargin, Onelia Gallow, Evelyn DeVille, and Beulah DeVille.
