Jeanette Prier , 74, departed this life on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at her residence in Lake Charles, LA. She was born September 1, 1943, to the late Harry Prier and Irene Cooks in Lake Charles, LA.

She was a homemaker that loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing more than anything. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her children, Charlene Simon (J.L.) Fontenot, Lorraine (James) Bill, Pamela Prier and Earline Prier; one brother, Dale D. Hayes; little sister, Monica Harmon; six grandchildren, Jessica, Nastassajia, J.L., Jr., Kevin, Channtanza and Donald; nine great grandchildren, a special cousin, Mary Harmon; one Godchild, Marvin Goodwill and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Prier and Irene Cooks; her previous husband, Dallas Simon; one brother, Harry Prier, Jr., and one grandchild, Cedric Prier.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., a Rosary at 11:30 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
