Jeffrey Paul Bushnell, Sr., departed this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at our Lady Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, La. He was born January 6, 1954, to Jessie Bushnell, Sr. and Gertrude Brignac in Lafayette, LA.  He worked in construction and was a self-employed mechanic until he retired.  Anybody that knew Jeff can attest that he always greeted everyone with a warm smile.  He had a special way of making people feel welcome and making them laugh.  He was an outspoken person with a giving spirit.

He is survived by his wife, Loubertha Bushnell; his mother, Gertrude Brignac; two sons, Jeffrey Paul Bushnell, Jr., and Fergus Antonio Bushnell; six sisters, Demetrie Bushnell, Mary (Danny) LeBlanc, Sheila Foxall all of Lake Charles, LA, Lynn Foxall from San Lorenzo, CA, Mildred Brignac of Sacramento, CA and Ezola Bushnell of Oberlin, LA; four brothers, Michael (Jennifer ) Foxall, Aaron Brignac, Marshall Bushnell all of Lake Charles, LA and Johnny Bushnell of Oberlin, LA; two granddaughters, Destiny Bushnell and LaFairy Bushnell; one great granddaughter, Kinsley Bushnell and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Bushnell, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Walter and Pauline Brignac; one brother, Jessie Bushnell, Jr.; three sisters, Juanita Foxall, Pamela Foxall and Michelle Brignac; two nephews, Christopher Foxall and Matthew Duhon and one great nephew, Demerick Owens.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., and Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. at King's Funeral Home, Minister Dwayne Prudhomme, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
