Jerry Captain , 68, departed this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at his home in Kinder, LA.  He was born January 21, 1954, to Leon Captain, Sr., and Louella Tyler Captain in Kinder, LA.  He worked at El Paso Gas Company until his retirement.  He loved nature, horses and spending quality time with his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, LaShara Lampkin (Leland) of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Patricia Captain of Kinder, LA and Sarah Captain of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Leon Captain, Jr., of Oberlin, LA; five grandchildren, Bianca Bracero, Braylon Holley, Cynthia Lampkin, Leland "Brock" Lampkin and Amelia Lampkin; one great grandchild, Izabella Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon, Sr., and Louella Captain; his siblings, Shelia Faye Captain, Kathy Ann Tillis, Ronald Anthony Captain and Helen Joyce Captain.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., and memorial service at 10:30 a.m., at King's Funeral Home.
