Jessie Mae Reder was born September 15, 1934, in Basile Louisiana to the union of Artemon Rougeau and Amaya Rougeau. She lived in Lake Charles Louisiana for over 70 years and was a devoted Christian Mother and Eucharistic Minister of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. In the early 50's, Mrs. Jessie Mae Reder worked at McNeese State University and there she met and married her late husband, Andrew B. Reder Sr. Mrs. Reder eventually retired from Calcasieu Parish School Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Artemon and Amaya Rougeau; her husband, Andrew B. Reder Sr.; daughter, Sandra (Lee) Ardoin; grandson, Christopher Ardoin and twenty-six siblings.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, three daughters, Deborah A. Reder, Thelma M. Reder Batiste and Patricia M. Reder; one son, Andrew Briton Reder Jr. (Letrice); nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 10:00 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
