January 23, 1955 – September 10, 2025
John Alex Villery, 70, passed away Tuesday September 10, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by his family. He was born on January 23, 1955, to the late John and Regina Villery. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years.
John was a 1973 Lake Charles High School graduate and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. He worked as a warehouse operator for Coca-Cola for ten years. Following this, he became a master aircraft mechanic and went on to work for Boeing and Northrop Grumman until his retirement, where he loved to spend time with his kids, grandkids, and extended family. He had a love for sci-fi and horror movies and also loved to cheer on his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys!
John leaves behind a family that cherishes and deeply loves him. He is survived by his sisters, Linda V. Thomas of Lake Charles and Ruth Ignont of Sacramento, California; his daughters Teeter (Ross) Chapman and LaTasha (Lee) Citizen both of Lake Charles; his grandsons Desmyne, Craig, Damonte, Davonte, Karrington Henry, Tray Citizen, and A'kilee Citizen, all of Lake Charles; his granddaughters JaDawn "G" Henry, Adaysha, and Shanta Citizen all of Lake Charles; his godchildren Rahshiek Thomas, Corinthia Tolbert, and Jermiah Jones, all of Lake Charles and Keareniquesha Floyd of Hot Springs, Arkansas; thirty great grandkids and one great-great granddaughter. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was welcomed into heaven by his parents John Edward Villery and Regina Jones Villery, his sister Mary Ella Villery, his maternal grandparents Leo Paul Jones and Odelia Lemelle Jones, his paternal grandparents Louis Villery and Ella Mary Cormier Villery, the love of his life, Marvle Floyd, his daughter Dana Williams, granddaughter Deshatysha Henry, and his brother-in-law Shelley Thomas.
A celebration of his life will be held September 24, 2025, at King's Funeral Home at 11:00am. Visitation with family will begin at 9am until time of service. Entombment will be following at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
