Obituary
Joseph Richard
was born on April 24, 1938 in Grand Coteau, LA to the late Lawrence and Evelina Darjean Richard.
The family moved to Opelousas, LA where he attended Holy Ghost Catholic Church and met his wife Cecilia jack. Later on, he moved his family to Westlake, LA and attended St. John Bosco Catholic Church. In 1966 he moved his family to Sulphur, LA. He was a hard worker and an awesome husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, whom we will miss dearly.

He was a hard worker and an awesome husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, whom we will miss dearly.
He departed this life on Monday, October 22, 2012 while in St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter; Deidre Richard; grandson; Germany Richard; eight brothers; Robert Lee, Carlton, Lawrence Jr., Alvin, George, Eugene, Frank, and Alton Richard; four sisters; Christine Nelson, Josephine Richard, Bessie Thierry, and Agnes Grace Simon.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter; Deidre Richard; grandson; Germany Richard; eight brothers; Robert Lee, Carlton, Lawrence Jr., Alvin, George, Eugene, Frank, and Alton Richard; four sisters; Christine Nelson, Josephine Richard, Bessie Thierry, and Agnes Grace Simon.
Survivors are his wife, Cecilia Richard; five daughters; Debra Richard, Angela (Melvin) Ward, Melissa Richard, Mary (Michael) Fradieu, Collette Richard (Patrick) all of Lake Charles, LA; three sons; Joseph "Chip" Richard of Moss Bluff, LA, Gerard Richard of Sulphur, LA, and Daniel Richard of Lake Charles, LA; two brothers; John Colbert Richard of Beaumont, TX, Wilbert Richard, Sr. of Lake Charles, LA; one sister; Drusella Semien of Westlake, LA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at St. John Bosco Catholic Church on Saturday, October 27, 2012, 9:00AM - 11:00AM a Cursillo Rosary will be at 10:00AM funeral immediately following. Rev. Albert W. Borel will officiate. Interment will be at Westlake Memorial Park under the direction of king's Funeral Home.
