Joseph Rodney Stein, Sr. , was born in Leonville, LA,  July 8, 1946, to Joseph Lucius Stein and Mary Edmonia Stein.  To this union he was born into a family of 10 children. Rodney was employed by the City of Lake Charles until his retirement.

Joseph Rodney Stein is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Stein; parents, Joseph L. and Mary E. Stein; two sisters, Fannie A. Harris and Mary F. Henry; one brother, Joseph L. Stein and three brothers-in-law, Joseph Pierre, Anthony C. Mitchell and Frank J. Henry

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Rodney Stein, Jr., (Delisa), Anthony Stein, and Angela Stein all of Houston, TX; step children, David Joubert (Patricia) and Jessica Ramsey (Steven) both of Houston, TX; siblings, Mildred Pierre, Mary Julia Mitchell both of Houston, TX, Joseph W. Stein of Suffern, New York and Sonny Stein of Lafayette, LA and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 9:00 a.m, and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home, pastor Larry Bellow, officiating.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
