Joshua Harmon was born the second child in a family of ten children to the late Bro. Morgan Harmon and Sis. Cedonia Cole Harmon. on October 21, 1924, in Oberlin, Louisiana.

A native of Oberlin, where he lived most of his life, he moved to Duarte, California, where he lived since October 2003.

Brother Joshua Harmon was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir. He was also a World War II veteran.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Cinderella Poullard and to this union, eight children were born.

Loved ones who shall cherish memories of him are five sons, Arthur (Birdie) Harmon of Lake Charles, Mack (Agnes) Harmon of Kinder, Larry (Sheryl) Harmon and Walter Harmon, both of Monrovia, California, and Morgan "Tim" (Phyllis) Harmon of Houston, Texas; thirty-six grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren; four sisters, Lee Anna Harmon and Cynthia (Alvin) Wood, both of Kinder, Mervice (Earl) Murphy and Sunella Polk, both of Oakdale; two brothers, Matthew (Doris) Harmon of Oakdale, and James (Tina) Harmon of Kinder; three stepdaughters, Georgia (Pastor Allen) Celestine of Lake Charles, Marie Joseph and Judy (Hebert) Arvie both of Houston, Texas.

Preceding him in death were his parents Morgan (Cedonia Cole) Harmon; first wife Cinderella Poullard; one son, George Harmon; two daughters, Jeannie Harmon Smith and Joyce Ann Harmon; two sisters, Janet Harmon and Cleo (Hazel) Poullard; and his second wife, Evelyn Poullard Harmon.
