IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judy Ann
Vickers
January 3, 1956 – December 28, 2020
Judy Ann Jack Vickers, 64, departed this life on Monday, December 28, 2020, at West Cal-Cam Hospital in Sulphur, LA. She was born January 3, 1956, to Clifton Jack and Lucy Jack in Mamou, LA.
Sis. Judy was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kinder, LA where she faithfully served as a deaconess and a member of the choir. She was recently retired from Kinder Elementary School where she enjoyed time with the students, faculty, and staff. Sis. Judy was born with a "green thumb", loving to spend time tending to her flowers in her garden. She described her garden as her happy place, probably second only to her other happy places which were Hobby Lobby and Kirklands. Sis Judy was a wonderful cook, baker, and best of all, a decorator. It was not unusual to find her rearranging the furniture in her house in the middle of the night or still up cleaning something. She was faithful to the church and her study of the word of God. She loved her husband, James, her family and she truly treasured her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, James Vickers, Jr.; three children, Willona (Darrien) Jackson, Jennifer (Tarrall) Humphrey and Jordan (fiancé, Keisha) Vickers; three sisters, Debra (Charles) Allen of Oberlin, LA, Sherry Jack of Kinder, LA and Geneva (Edward) Jackson of Oberlin, LA; one brother, Nathan Jack of Kinder, LA; eight grandchildren, Katelyn Jackson, Jayla Humphrey, Jaydan Humphrey, Kristopher Jackson, Trennan Humphrey, Braidyn Maldonado, Tyler Humphrey, and Ayson Vickers; one great uncle and aunt, Daniel and Frankie Prudhomme of Kinder, LA; two uncles, Shelton Thomas of Oakdale, LA and Elton Thomas of Iowa, LA; two aunts, Attie Allison of Vidrine, LA and Glenda Bias of Ville Platte, LA; four Godchildren, Sandy Terry, Marcella Thierry, Brittany Jack, and Angela Jack and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever cherish her and remember her legacy of a life well-done.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Lucy Jack and one brother, Alton Jack.
Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, the family is requesting a walk-through visitation, only, to be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kinder, LA. A graveside service officiated by Pastor Arnold Wykoff will follow at 1:00 p.m., with a burial in Kinder Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
