Julius Phillip Lucas , 80, departed this life on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Christus St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.  He was born December 9, 1943, to Warren Lucas and Maddie Lindsay Lucas in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.  He worked at Sherwin Williams until his retirement.  He was a Freemason of the Masonic Lodge in North Carolina.  He enjoyed running, modeling and spending time with family.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Barbara Lucas of Lake Charles, LA; three children, Judith Lucas-Johnson (Arthur) of Richmond, VA, Bonnie Lucas of Charlotte, NC, and Julius Phillip Lucas, Jr. (Jackie) of Greensboro, NC; three bonus children, Wesley Frank, Kayla Brown and Myra Fontenot (Austin) all of Lake Charles, LA; his siblings, Laura George of Florida and Stella Phillips of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Maddie Lucas; his siblings, William Lee Lindsay, Rosa Lee Robinson and Juanita Phillips.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home.
