Karen Renae' Gardiner-Thomas , 55, departed this life on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.  She was born on May 23, 1961, to Chester and Dorothy Gardiner in North Fork, Virginia.

She worked as a nurse in many facilities until she became too ill to care for others.  She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Braylon Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Ray'Sean (Cynthia) Marsh, Sr., LaToya (Christopher) McKinney and Savannah Gardiner; two brothers, Chester Gardiner, Jr.,  and Clyde (Stephanie) Cross, Jr.; two sisters, Phyllis (Malcolm) Joseph and Hope (Michael) Alexander; eleven grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Dorothy Gardiner and one brother, Michael K. Gardiner.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Braylon Harris, officiating.
