Kendrix Brian Jackson was born on March 6, 1961, in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was the first child born to Timothy Jackson and Lorine Avery Jackson. "Kenny", as he was called by family and friends, attended school in Vinton, Louisiana, graduating from Vinton High School in 1979. While in school, he excelled in the band and was awarded a band scholarship to McNeese State University.

Kenny was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church in Vinton, where he served on the deacon board.

In 2006, he relocated to Lake Charles, and joined the New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, again serving as a deacon.

For the past 8 years, Kenny had been employed by L'auberge du Lac casino.

Kendrix passed away on July 21, 2016 in Lake Charles.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Lorine Jackson of Lake Charles; a brother, Kelvin Jackson (Doris), of Orange, Texas; sister, Karen Jackson Wesley (Keith) of Lake Charles; nieces, Sharde' Henry and Amorahh Wesley, both of Lake Charles, and Kristy Jackson of Orange, Texas; nephews, De'Andre Jackson of Sulphur, La., and Jackson Keith Wesley of Lake Charles.  He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father, Timothy Jackson; paternal grandparents, Willie and Sadie Jackson; and maternal grandparents, Alfred and Irene Avery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at 8:00 a.m., and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, Dr. Jimmy R. Stevens, officiating.  Burial will be in Benevolent Cemetery in Vinton, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
