Kenneth Ray Rigmaiden

As we gather today, we are not just mourning a loss—we are celebrating a man who was deeply loved and a legacy that will never fade. As we witness the Homegoing of Kenney, we pray that his reunion with our Father of all things seen and unseen is as welcoming now as it was when he entered this world 70 years ago.

Kenney was born July 31, 1955, in Mossville, LA to Mr. Arthur Lee and Mrs. Mary Rigmaiden. He was one of the thirteen children born into this union. During his early years, he received most of his education through the Mossville educational system, where he established a legacy of kindness, compassion, everlasting friendships, and an exceptional sense of style. Kenney had a way of walking into a room and making it brighter, not because he tried, but because it was simply who he was. His presence was steady, his humor was sharp, and his loyalty was unwavering. As he grew older, those same qualities only deepened. Kenney was the type of man who showed up whether you needed a laugh, a listening ear, or someone to tell you the truth straight with no sugarcoating. He loved hard, he lived boldly, and he carried himself with a confidence that made you proud to know him. To his family, he was more than a father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, or friend; he was a protector, a memory keeper, and a source of joy. He loved the casino, but nothing meant more to him than time spent with his nephews, friends, and family. If you knew “Skin-Tight,” then you knew he was a "Smooth Talker", a "Go Getter” and truly “One of a Kind” a man who played NO GAMES and lived with style, loyalty, and heart.

To his community, he was a familiar face because he worked for Mossville Waterworks. He was a trusted voice, and a man who never forgot where he came from. Though we feel the weight of his absence, we also feel the warmth of his legacy. Kenney leaves behind lessons in strength, resilience, and laughter. His journey on this side has ended, but his impact continues in every life he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Rigmaiden, his sister Stella, and his six brothers, Leon, Paul Jr., Tommy, Shelton, Gene Arthur, and Cleveland Lee.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving children, Chawonna (David) LeDoux, Lawonda (Lawrence) Griffin, Arthur (Reneasha) Rigmaiden, Brandon Rigmaiden, and Kendra Rigmaiden. He was united in marriage to Sarah Rigmaiden and though life took them on separate paths, they remained connected through the love of their children and family. His sisters Bernadine (Randall) Carrier, Shirley Captain, Georgia (Tyrone) Harris, Roxie Rigmaiden, Gussie (Elton) Hall, as well as his twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren will also miss him very much. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends. A special thank you to Sharniece Moore and JaMesha Swopes for their compassionate care and unwavering support to our dad. We thank you. Words cannot express how grateful we are to have you all a part of Kenney’s life and ours.

A celebration and remembrance of Kenney's life will be held on Tuesday, June 23. Friends and family are welcome to attend visitation services beginning at 10:00am, followed by funeral services at 12pm. All services will be held in the King's Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery of Westlake under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
