Obituary

The great Kirk Jimmy McPherson was born October 12, 1949, in New Orleans, LA to the late Isaac McPherson Sr. and Sheldon Anita Morrison.  He spent his younger days in Houma, LA. He spent that time with his Grandfather, Jimmy Wolfe who helped mold him into the person he grew into that we knew and loved so very much.  He moved to Lake Charles, LA in 1965, joined the army in 1969 where he served in Vietnam. He also received his GED while active. He was stationed in Colorado Spring, Co where he met the love of his life, Dianna McPherson. They moved back to Lake Charles, LA after he served his time in the service.  He attended Delta Technical School for Drafting and then went on to welding school. After finishing school he was hired at W.R Grace as a machinist until he retired in 1991.

His memories and legacy will be forever cherished by his children, Leslie Price (Ephriam Jr), Ora Breaux, Jeffrey Rougeau (Cattina), Jessica McPherson, Kirk I McPherson (Megan), and Shayvon Landry (Javonti); his siblings, Debra Gray, Lamar Wolfe, Dana Morrison (Sandra), Melvin McPherson (Susan), Isaac McPherson Jr., (Kimberly), Owen McPherson, Gaynell McPherson, Min. Sandra McCain (George); 15 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna; his parents, Isaac McPherson, Sr., and Sheldon Morrison; one sister, Charmaine Fontenot and two brothers, Gary and Wycliff McPherson.

He will be remembered for his love for family, music, fishing, old westerns, gadgets and jokes. He loved laughter and tried his best to be a father to the community. He wanted to help everybody and if he could have he would have. He would give the shirt off his back, literally. He was well known for his great gift of gab!!
