LARRY'S LIFE STORY

Larry Bushnel l, 64, was born and raised in Soileau, Louisiana to the parents of Gabriel Bushnell and Cecilia McIntyre Bushnell.  There he was baptized and raised at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  After attending school, Larry began working on the farm operating various types of equipment. In 1978, he met and married Barbara Fontenot and they moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana. From this union was a one and only son, Larry Bushnell, Jr. He began working as a bricklayer for Albert Simien contractor for 20+ years. Then he worked for Albert Joseph contractor until his retirement. In his spare time Larry loved cooking and barbecuing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel and Cecilia Bushnell; one sister,  Margaret Bushnell and one brother, Stanley Bushnell.

He is survived by his one and only son, Larry Bushnell Jr. (Yolanda); four brothers, Henry Bushnell (Linda), Keith Bushnell (Patsy) both of Beaumont, TX, Michael Bushnell of Soileau, LA, Raymond Bushnell of Lafayette, LA; four sisters, Brenda Bushnell of Soileau, LA, Patricia Burleson of Beaumont, TX, Lucille Bushnell (Gerard) of Carencro, LA and Loretta Dixon (Anthony) of Lafayette, LA; two grandchildren, Jazmine Bushnell and Larry J. Bushnell lll; longtime companion, Helen Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home, Deacon Elray Bushnell, officiating.
