Obituary

Larry James Singleton , "Loco" 68 departed this life on Monday, January 30, 2023, in Lake Charles, LA.  He was born September 23, 1954, to Herman Singleton, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Singleton in Lake Charles, LA. He was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, LA. He was a lifelong resident of Mossville, LA where he also attended Mossville High School. He later relocated to Iowa, LA. He worked for the Port of Lake Charles for many years and then went on to driving dump trucks, where he gained the nickname "Loco". He had a love for automobiles, of which he took great pride in. He loved spending time with family and friends while barbequing and listening to zydeco and blues. You could always count on him to tell jokes and make everyone around him laugh.

He leaves to cherish six children, of whom he raised with Madlyn Freeman, Monique Seraille of Sulphur, LA, Malcolm Guillory, Sr. of Westlake, LA, Shantel Guillory of Sulphur, LA, James Freeman (Belinda) of Sulphur, LA, Tracey Deloach  (Andrain) of Vinton, LA and Charlotte Dixon (Broderick) of Maringouin, LA; two sisters, Shirley Singleton Williams (Richard), Sharon Singleton Boxie both of Iowa, LA; two brothers, Ronald Singleton (Cynthia) of Iowa, LA and Donald Singleton (Cynthia) of Westlake, LA; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Singleton, Sr and Dorothy Mae Singleton; one son, Wilson Tee Freeman; one sister, Sheila Marie Singleton Brown; one brother, Herman Singleton, Jr.; Grandparents, Paul Simien, Sr. and Bertha Simien, Noah Singleton and Emma Mouton Singleton and one great nephew, Haydon Malbrough.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., a rosary at 10:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Westlake, LA.  Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
