Larry James Washington, Sr., 79, was born December 28, 1945, in Welsh, LA to the late Adam Prudhomme, Jr., and Laura Lewis.  Larry departed this life on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his residence in Welsh, LA.

Larry was married to Anna Lou Washington for 48 years.  From this marriage three sons and one daughter were born.  Larry was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Welsh under the leadership of Rev. Nathan Stevens.  He served in the United States Army for two years and worked at PPG Industries for 41 years.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Anna Washington of Welsh, LA; three sons, Jermaine Washington of Welsh, LA, Larry Washington, Jr., of Lake Charles, LA and Torrey Washington of Roanoke, LA; one daughter, Ana Alicia Washington of Westlake, LA; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, four sisters, Wanda Wilson of Welsh, LA, Mona Lisa Thibodeaux (Tib) of Jennings, LA, Joyce Ann Prudhomme and Jacqueline Gray both of Welsh, LA; two brothers, Carl Lewis (Corliss) of Houston, TX, Steven Lyons of Welsh, LA and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Adam and mother, Laura; three sisters, Debra, Erma and Joyce; five brothers, Anthony, Nelson, Timothy, Riney and Larry.

Larry will be remembered as a quiet, humble man with a sense of humor and a big heart.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Welsh, LA, pastor Nathan Stevens, officiating.  Burial will follow in the SWLA Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
