Laura Lartigue Rougeau, 89, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2015, following a brief illness. Mrs. Rougeau was born in Pin Clair, a rural area near Mamou, Louisiana and resided in Lake Charles since 1954. She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of Christian Mothers. Mrs. Rougeau is survived by her son, Weldon J. Rougeau (Shirley Day) of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren: Michael Ray Bellow of Oakland, Calif., Vincent D. Rougeau (Robin Kornegay, M.D.) of Weston, Mass., Dominique F. Rougeau, of Sausalito, Calif., and John M. Rougeau of Chicago, Ill.; five great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Jesse Mae (Andrew) Reder and Leola Rougeaux of Lake Charles and Leanna Rougeaux of Andrews, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at King's Funeral Home, 1611 Hwy 14, Lake Charles, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 2031 Opelousas Street, Lake Charles. Father Timothy Goodly, former pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will officiate the funeral mass. Interment will follow mass at Combre Memorial Park, 2701 Opelousas Street, Lake Charles, under the direction of King's Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
