Lawrence Barfield , 62, departed this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at his residence. He was born on March 28, 1954, to Nathaniel and Della Mae Barfield in Lake Charles, LA. He was a musician all of his life.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Carol Simien Barfield and two stepdaughters; one brother, Nathaniel (Lucy) Barfield of California; four sisters, Pamela (Griffin) Edwards, Roslyn (John) Simien, Bridget Levings all of Lake Charles, LA and Natiel Barfield of Columbus, GA; five step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Della Mae Barfield; three brothers, Reginal Barfield, Duncan Barfield and Mark Barfield.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home.
