Leon Anthony Sam, Sr., 41, departed this life on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on December 14, 1973, To Manuel Sam, Jr., and Wanda Sam. Leon graduated from Welsh High School in Welsh, LA, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, May 5, 1992, and discharged in 1994. He layer created a career in law enforcement and was employed with Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's Department.

Leon was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Sam, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Wanda Sam; one son, Leon Sam, Jr; four sisters, Deon Sam (Phillip Jackson) of Houston, TX, Mandy Sam of Lake Charles, LA, Ashley Woods (Bruce) of Houston, TX, Dionne Haley of Roanoke, LA; three brothers, Roderick Edwards of Kinder, LA, Lavar Robinson (Anna) of Houston, TX, Manuel Sam, III of Lake Charles, LA; a very special friend Patricia Druilhet, one godchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
