IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Victorian
Boutte
October 21, 1952 – April 21, 2017
Reflection of Life
Linda Victorian Boutte was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on October 21, 1952 to the late Houston Victorian and Irene Richard Victorian of Iowa, LA. She is nine of ten children – Clifford (Florence) Victorian, Lora Gene (Andy) Anderson, Bernice (Elray) Bushnell, all of Lake Charles, LA; Tarlton (Kathy) Victorian of Houston, TX; Lee Royal (Donna) Victorian of Elgin, OK. She was preceded in death by her brothers - Infant Hubert Victorian, Grafie (Mary) Victorian, Carlton (Leslie) Victorian and her sister - Gracie (Lawrence) Dugas. Linda Victorian accepted Christ at an early age as a member of Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Iowa, LA.
Linda married her beloved husband, Calvin Boutte on January 11, 1984. This union bonded together their children - Calvin's sons Greg Boutte and Shannon Boutte; Linda's daughter Denise Victorian. Together they gave birth to their youngest daughter LaToya Boutte. Linda was a stay at home mother to all the children while her husband Calvin worked many long hours with Mobil Oil. She continued her faith as a member of St. Henry Catholic Church of Lake Charles, LA.
Linda is survived by her son Greg Boutte (Teresa) and their four children Donovan, Mykel, Nathan and Natalee Boutte; her daughter Denise Vernon (Cedric) and their three children Corey Victorian, Codee and Alexia Fuquay; her son Shannon Boutte (Demetria) and their two children Adrienne and Madison Boutte; and her daughter LaToya Boutte, her fiancé Joshua Reed and their two children Jaylon and Alaina Reed. She is a great grandmother to Kameron Victorian (Corey & Sydne').
Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister to her immediate family. She was also surrounded by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and a host of longtime friends.
She was well known to Southwest LA Dixie Youth Baseball Association and the Lake Area Bird Breeders Club. She loved attending football and basketball games in support of her alumni school, Washington Marion. She enjoyed many things with family, such as enjoying cooking with her daughters, playing board games with grandchildren, sitting outdoors on her swing admiring beautiful birds and enjoying the sweet aroma of her plants. Other things that she did enjoy was to construct a jigsaw puzzle and create what would become a beautiful work of art.
Linda was always known for her strong determination, no matter what the situation was. At times, as she battled cancer, she needed that determination. As she battled cancer, we all saw pieces of her slip away. Family members and friends showcased love gestures that gave her a boost of strength to carry on. To my loving sister Lora Gene, "you have always been my sister who I could talk with anytime when I needed. You reminded me to keep the faith and chuckle with laughter even when I was in pain." To my wonderful husband Calvin, "I will be waiting for you in Heaven with a hammer for all of the unfinish home improvement projects. You have been so loving, patient and very supportive through my battles." To my caring daughter LaToya, "mom baby," you have been a fulltime caregiver and the one to hold me through my pain. You encouraged me to fight every day to stay alive."" The list of names could go on, but with the help of the Lord those broken threads have been mended. On Friday, April 21, 2017 in her home, God came and called her to her eternal home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
