Obituary

Linda Joyce Leblanc was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on September 28, 1957.  She was the youngest of Joseph and Mildred Richard's four children.  She gained her wings on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville, Louisiana.

Linda was christened early at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  She practiced Catholicism until early adulthood. She later participated in services at New Covenant Baptist Church until her death.

A devout Christian, Linda's faith and love for God and others were evident in how she treated others. Linda was a genuine helper who cared for everyone. If you needed help, her heart and home were open. If you needed an ear, she listened discreetly. She would pray, share the gospel, and give motivating affirmations if you needed a word.

Linda attended grade school at Cherry Street Elementary and graduated from Washington High School in 1975.

Always a hard worker, she had a career as a proof operator at Calcasieu Marine National Bank. She was a manager of Various In & Out Mini-Mart Convenience Stores. She spent twenty years working for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, where she held positions as a patrol officer and clerk in the Records & ID departments until she retired in 2020.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, whom she cherished dearly, family gatherings, working in her garden, and feeding hummingbirds. Her favorite pastimes included visiting the local resorts, connecting with friends, and sharing inspirational quotes via social media.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mildred Richard, and her nephew, David Brown, Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 47 years, Ridley LeBlanc, Sr., of Lake Charles, LA; children, Doneka Dugas (Jason) of Lacassine, LA; Ridley LeBlanc, Jr of Lake Charles, LA; Markel (Tori) LeBlanc of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Larry Richard of Lake Charles, LA; sisters Sharon Bryant of Lake Charles, LA; Cynthia Gail Brown (Leonard Moon) of Fresno, TX. Ten grandchildren: Mijah Dugas, Jaren Dugas, Jarius LeBlanc, Isiah Crosby, Dezmon Dugas, Ke'Ante Dugas, Lana Weir, Mycah Jordan, Major LeBlanc, Maddox LeBlanc, and a host of relatives and friends.

Linda's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure.  So today we celebrate and rejoice in her victory.   We have a new Angel watching over all who loved and appreciated her.
