Lionel "G-Boo" was born to the late Willie and Emily Moore on February 22, 1935 in Cameron, La. He was united in matrimony to Barbara Lowery on August 28, 2006. Stepchildren from this union are Durnell Frank, Sheraton Frank, Tira Harris, and Quiana (Leon) Clayton. He reared two stepsons, Adam & Arnold James Malveaux; two stepdaughters, Bridgett Davis and Isabella Vital all of Lake Charles, La. Lionel completed his life journey on February 25, 2014.

Lionel was very well known in Cameron, La., and a man that loved to dress well; excellent cook; could forecast the weather better than any meteorologist. He worked as a commercial fisherman for Omega Protein; Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Reid (Calcasieu Parish); Deputy Sheriff under Sono Savoie (Cameron Parish); Honorary Sheriff under Tony Mancuso (Calcasieu Parish). He served as security for Bargeman Memorial COGIC (Cameron, La.) and New Beginnings COGIC (Mossville, La.)

He gave his life to Christ, dedicated and committed to his church.

He leaves to cherish her memories his wife, Barbara Lowery Moore; the apple of his eyes, Asia Gumbs; sister, Ethel January; nephews, Rev. Henry (Joyce) January, Burnell (Yubi) January; nieces, Aline Druilhet, Mary Ann January, Emilly (Jerry) Morris, Eva January; stepchildren, Durnell Frank, Sheraton Frank, Tira Harris, and Quiana (Leon) Clayton; godchildren, Shawn, Niya, and McKeithan Donte'; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at New Beginnings COGIC, Elder Charles Porter, Sr., officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
