Louis Mitchell, 78, departed this life on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in Lafayette, LA.  He was born April 3, 1938, to the late Joseph and Agnes Mitchell in Port Arthur, TX.  He worked at the Harris County Flood Control Department as a Dump Truck Foreman.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Jacqueline Phillips, Dana Goosby, Tracy Johnson, and Charles Johnson; four grandchildren, Kevin Moore, Reginald Johnson, Porsha Williams, and Jada Mitchell; 8 great grandchildren, De'Nell Williams, Kati Johnson, Sarai Jones, Kevin Moore, Jr., K'von Moore, Devon Williams, Derrick Williams, Jr., and Palaisha Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes Mitchell and his wife, Shirley Phillips-Mitchell.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Christ Praise and Worship Center, Kinder, LA, Pastor Rudell Kirkland, officiating.  Burial will be in Botley Cemetery in Kinder LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
