IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise
Brisco
November 8, 1929 – March 11, 2024
Louise was born in Grand Coteau, LA and eventually settled in Lake Charles, LA where she lived for the majority of her life.
When she was seventeen, she met and wed Junious Brisco. They were part of the original founding members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lake Charles. Together they adopted a daughter, Liz and raised numerous foster sons, Eddie McCoy, Harold (deceased), Flynoid and John Jones. Louise and Junious were awarded Foster Parents of the Year by the City of Lake Charles.
She was a devout Catholic, who regularly attended daily morning mass and prayed the Rosary early each morning. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was widely regarded as the most infamous cook in the Brisco-Jolivette clan. Relatives and friends from across the country frequently visited her to learn the recipes for her famous seafood dressing and stuffed shrimp. She was a devoted wife and homemaker whose fiery spirit persisted even after the death of her husband in 2008. During her time as a widow, she relished in time spent visiting and chatting with her sisters and those whom she trusted most. Louise lived proudly independent through the end of her days.
She is one of the last surviving members in her family generation and is survived by her daughter and twin grandchildren, Miles and Maya.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis and Ollie, her two sisters, Leona and Irene and her brother, JC.
