On Thursday, January 2, 2014 Louversa Francois Lee departed this life at the age of 96. She was born on September 22, 1917 to the late Jean Baptiste Francois and Victorine Mallery Francois in St.Martinville, LA. Louversa was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for over 40 years. She was a member of the choir, a Lector, and a member of the Christian Mothers Organization, and worked the church bazaar for so many years. They named her "The Cotton Candy Lady." She was also crowned Queen of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church Mardi Gras Ball. She was employed over 15years with Calcasieu Parish School System. She loved life, loved interacting with others and always welcomed a good laugh. She was preceded in death by her parents; Jean Baptiste and Victorine Francois; three sisters; Verna Guidry of St. Martinville, LA; Louise Alexander, and Bernice Oliver both of Lake Charles, LA; two brothers; John Francois and Jim Francois both of St. Martinville, LA. She leaves to mourn three sons: Samuel (Doris) Lee; Wilton (Helen) Lee Jr both of Lake Charles, LA; John M. Lee of Lafayette, LA and one daughter; Alice (Calvin) Hayward of Houston, TX. She has 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
