Obituary

On October 12, 1046 a son was born to Madison and Grace Pete in Houston, Tx. On August 4, 1966, Louis entered the United States Army and served in the military during the Vietnam War in Southeast Asia. He was awarded several Military Service Medals and Badges and on June 24, 1968 received an honorable discharge. On November 12, 1971, he married Emma Lee Sowell and remained married for nearly 43 years until his death. Louis and Emma's marriage was a married matched in Heaven; whenever you saw one, the other was not far away. They were always together. He was a long time resident of Lake Charles, La. for over 50 years and a member of the American Legion Post 551. Louis was a very caring person, especially towards family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and tending to his feline friends. He was not a rich man, but on many occasions neglected himself to help others in need. One thing for sure, Louis loved his entire family.

On March 5, 2014 at 12:01 p.m. an infinite and loving God declared that the work of his servant was done. So he dispatched one oh His angels to bring him home to a place of peace and rest prepared just for him. Luscious (Louis) Jordan Pete was a loyal husband, step-father, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his father Madison Pete, a brother Embry Pete, and a step-son Joseph Louis.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Emma Lee Pete; his mother, Grace Pete of California; eight step-children, Florence Espree, Bertha Davis, Willi White, Jr., Samuel white (Debra), John Ladd (Gailla) all of Lake Charles, La., James White (Lucy) of Beaumot, Tx., Marie Thomas (Charles) of Houston, Tx., and Charlie Carter (Katina) of Huntsville, Tx.; two brothers, Lazarus E. Pete (Gertie) and Roosevelt Washington all of California; aunts, three sister-in-laws, two brother-in-laws, twenty-eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Louis' favorite song was "Amazing Grace".

Farewell to Luscious (Louis) Jordan Pete. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
