Pastor Madison Clark, Jr.
, 68, transitioned to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Lake Area Medical Hospital. He was born to the late Madison Clark, Sr. and Bertha Ceasar Clark in Eunice, La. Pastor Clark graduated from Washington High School in 1966 and joined the United States Air Force, completing four years of service. He was married to Joy Helen Washington-Clark for 43 years until his passing on August 4th. Pastor Clark accepted his call into ministry while at Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Horace C. Allison. He was called to Pastor Good Hope Baptist Church in 1982. Pastor Clark attended International Bible Institute and Seminary receiving his Bachelor's degree (Magna Cum Laude-Theology) in 1987. He served faithfully as Pastor for 33 years until his death. He is the author of two books "How to Establish a Healthy Church" and "How to Establish a Healthy Christian Life". He was President Elect of the Baptist Ministers Union, he served as the Director of the Congress of Christian Education of the New Light District Association. He has taught in the Louisiana Home and Foreign Mission State Convention. He served as First Vice President of the New Light District Association under the late Rev. W. W. Batiste. Pastor Clark was employed at Olin/Lyondell for 28 years before retiring. Throughout his employment, he remained faithful to his duties as Pastor of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. Pastor Clark was passionate about his call to service as servant leader of Good Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing, reading, fishing, writing, cooking and ministering the Word of God. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Ceasar Clark; father, Madison Clark, Sr.; brother, Cloggis James Clark; brother, Eugene Adam Clark (Precious); and son, Darrell Wayne Clark. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Joy Helen Clark; son, Patrick Gabriel (Marquetta) Clark of Wylie, Tx; daughter, Dana Patrice (Jamol) Clark-Brocks of Dallas, Tx; daughter, Tamara Clark of Lake Charles; four Sisters, Bertha Mae (Douglas) Smith of Lake Charles, Gaynell (Charles) Anderson of Lake Charles, Mae Etta London of Dallas, Tx, Gloria Clark of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, D'Vonte , J'khoury, Lakyn , Jordan; one great grandchild Rylee Annabel and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Arrangements will be as follows: Friday, August 7, 2015, viewing from 5pm – 7pm at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. in Westlake; Celebration of Life Service, 7:00 pm at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. Saturday, August 8, 2015, viewing from 9am – 12pm at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Charles. Homegoing Service 12:00 pm at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Combre Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
