Magdalene Orelia McNeal , 71, departed this life on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at a local hospital in Lake Charles, LA.  She was born November 14, 1949, to Clemon Gobert and Mary Jane Boutte Gobert in Lake Charles, LA.  She worked as a cook for Piccadilly Cafeteria over 40 years and also a cook at La'berge Casino until her retirement.  She loved reading, spending time with family and going to church.

She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Mary Y. McNeal; one son, Carl Derrick McNeal; one granddaughter, Nasayia A. McNeal all of Lake Charles, LA; one bonus daughter, Patricia (Mentor) Simpson; one bonus son, Randall Davis; five sisters, Marie (John) Larche, Wanda (Eddie) Coleman, Brenda (Joe) Wright, Jo Ann Gobert and Mary (Donald) Smith; two brothers, Paul (Freda) Gobert and Herman Gobert and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clemon and Mary Gobert; two brothers, Curley Gobert and Willis Gobert; one sister, Mildred LeBlanc; one brother-in-law, August W. LeBlanc; and one nephew, Jimmy Neil Lastrape, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery, 2023 Broad Street, Lake Charles, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
