Manuel departed this life on Monday, June 9, 2014 in his residence. He was 79 years old. He was born on June 6, 1935 in Ville Platte, LA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Euzebe (Camila) Fontenot. He retired after working many years at a local chemical plant. He was a jubilant, fun loving and genuine person with a heart of gold. He loved to dance, laugh and there was never a dull moment with him. He leave to cherish the memories, his wife of 60 years, Joanna Fontenot of Lake Charles, La. They shared a blended family of 6 children. Four daughters Shelvin Mouton and Linda Fontenot, both of Lake Charles, LA.; Mary Fontenot Anderson of Leesville, LA., Barbara Johnson of Ville Platte LA., and one son; Bobby ( Vergie) Doucet of Ville Platte, LA.; and three sisters; Hilda Manuel of Beaumont, TX., Hazel Creeks and Bonnie (Lincton) Wilson both of Baytown, TX., and two brothers; Lannis Fontenot of Baytown, TX., and Hayward (Lee Esther) Fontenot of Lake Charles, LA. and 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; Euzebe and Camila Fontenot; and one son; Manuel Glenn Fontenot; one grandson; Corey Fontenot; three brothers; Hillary and Euzebe Fontenot both of Baytown, TX., and Daniel Fontenot of Lake Charles, LA.
