Margarette Ann Semien , 80, departed this life on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles, LA.  She was born March 23, 1944, to Seth Fergerson and Cora Mae Fergerson in Mansfield, LA.  She worked in education at T.S. Cooley Elementary School until her retirement.  She loved spending time with family, cooking, baking, crocheting, dancing and singing.  Her home was always opened for people in need in the community.  She worked tirelessly with children and adults, feeding and giving them a place to live, no matter the circumstances she always extended a helping hand.  Her favorite saying was "Have A Blessed Life".

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Charmaine Semien of Garland, TX, Erwin Semien of Sachse, TX, Glenn Semien, Pamela LaVergne, Joel Semien (Lenora) all of Lake Charles, LA, and Mark Semien of Garland, TX; eleven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Seth Ferguson, Cora Mae Gilyard (Joseph Gilyard) and her husband, LJ John Semien.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
