Obituary

Marieta Angelle Bias-Alexander, known affectionately as Angie, passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 40 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born on September 12, 1983, in Lake Charles, Louisiana and a graduate of Washington Marion Magnet High School a proud member of the JROTC.

Angie leaves behind a legacy marked by her distinguished 7years of service in the U.S. Airforce as a Supply Technician. She continued her career as an Executive Assistant in healthcare administration and forensic psychology. Angie earned her Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration and a Master's degree in Social Work from Herzing University. She further pursued her passion by obtaining a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from North Central University. Her academic achievements reflected her commitment to excellence and her desire to make a difference in her field.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Angie founded the Gardens of Doves foundation in honor of her late brother Terry Wayne Porter, Jr. "Doves". She also found profound joy in her family life. She shared a loving partnership with her life partner, Stormie Alexander, and together they raised three beautiful daughters: Amarie, Teryiah, and Lyric. Angie's role as a devoted mother was central to her identity, and her family meant the world to her.

Angie will be deeply missed by her loved ones. She is survived by her mother, Marieta Cezar Bias of Norcross, Georgia, her siblings Wayne Porter and his wife Keya of Texas, Candice Porter and her partner Arthur of Norcross, Georgia, and Levi "Boo" Bias of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Bias Jr., and her brother Terry Porter Jr.

Angie is also remembered by numerous nieces (especially Deja Chante' Smith), nephews (especially Jordan Porter), cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who held a special place in her heart.

Those who knew Angie remember her for her aspiring writing talent and her ability to express herself with grace and humility. Her profound love for her family was evident in everything she did.

May Marieta Angie Bias-Alexander rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 6 at Solid Rock Full Gospel Ministry-Oberlin. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm with funeral service following at 5:00pm.
