We thank God for the life, and legacy of Maritha (Josephine) Poullard Rosamore. A Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and Friend to many and a faithful servant of the Lord. The truth, intergrity and beauty of her spirit filled our hearts.

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, Maritha Poullard Rosamore, at the age of 88, peacefully transitioned into the arms of the Lord, while at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

Maritha (Josephine) Poullard Rosamore, 88 was born October 13, 1932, in Eunice, Louisiana to the union of the late Arthur and Evelina Poullard. Later in life Josephine married the late Leroy J. Rosamore, Sr., and were happily married for 55 years. They raised seven children Pauline, Gerald, Ethel (Marie), Clarence (David), Leroy, Jr. (Joseph), Arthur (Lambchop), and Bonnie (Lynn). Josephine and Leroy also raised two granddaughters, Charlene and Charlotte. Josephine was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for many years. As a member, she served as Vice President of the Usher Board, Mission Sister and Women's Choir. Josephine later joined Messiah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert Owens. She retired from Lake Charles Memorial Hospital after many years of service in housekeeping where she also started the Union in 1979. After retiring, she later became a private sitter for many families in Lake Charles. Josephine will always be remembered for her strength, character, loyalty and sweet smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Evelina Poullard; husband, Leroy J. Rosamore, Sr; one son, Leroy J. Rosamore, Jr; one brother, David Poullard; three sisters, Lee Ester Lewis, Mary Ann Ware, and Emma Lee Charles and one granddaughter, Alexandra Rosamore,

She leaves to mourn three sons; Gerald (Cheryl) Morris, Clarence (Mrytle) Rosamore, Sr., and Arthur Rosamore, Sr; three daughters, Pauline Green, Ethel (Keith) Johnson, and Bonnie Levier; one brother, Daniel Poullard; one sister, Marjorie Callahan, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at King's Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
